What color furniture would look best in a white apartment?
I'm moving into a new apartment in a couple of weeks, and I'm going to go buy a bunch of new furniture. But I'm not too sure as to what color furniture (sofa, tables, dinette, etc.) I should get. What will go good with an apartment with walls that are white, and carpet that is sort of a "dirty" white, but white nonetheless. Right now I'm thinking the obvious black but what do you think?

- blue would look really good too for the coutchs and stuff...the table should be wood or glass topped, and you can always change the tablecloth regularlly!
- Blue upholstery will make the rooms look bigger, but red will make them look smaller and cozier. I would go with blues and greens, which will make the space relaxing and pleasant.
- black
- earthtones
- black yes! great idea!
- electric blue!! God that would be awesome!
- Pink!
- all colors go with white...
- Brown leather sofas go very well with white, and medium dark wood furniture too. Black furniture will look too eighties.
- Use a light color not white or black. Maybe a light blue or green.
- I am an interior decorator and there is a new modern look that is really catching on. People are going with a new color called invisible. It really makes the place look a lot bigger.
- I would choose brown leather the pillows should be turquoise. With the dinette light wood tone with a turquoise center piece, and and other tables a light wood color. Black is so played out in a white environment.
- some thing with the same light color like blue bage or even more wight lol
- Depends. Are you a warm color person or a cool color person. If you are a warm color person you should choose a lot of red, browns, oranges and golds. If you are a cool color person, blues, silvers, grays would go nice. It would be different if your apartment was painted colors but since it's white, you should pick colors that look best around you. To find out if your a cool or warm color person, put those colors up close to your skin and see what's looks best. Good luck....
- it depends what type of mood you want your room. you could had a black and white room itll look good or light colours like mint soft pink or lilac type. you could pick your favourite colour lets say green for example, light green sofas or whatever and and dark green pictures. how bout blue. ice blue light bule dark blue. use one colour but different shades i think u dont want 1 colour cause ull get bored lookin at it so choose your fav colour and use different shades of it. check all of the websites i hope they help. :)
- I feel it all depends on what you want(You will be living there). You have to figure out what your taste and style is...what look are you going for. While furniture is your main feature in a room, don't forget to accessorize...even with an empty canvas so to speak ( white walls) ther is so much you can do with art work, mirrors and such. I hope these sites will be of some help. The second site does have some great looks that are affordable- with great accessories- so you can change your look without going broke. If you do go for black..try bight colors throw pillows for accents ( bring out colors from artwork)Plants add a great punch of life and color to a room.As does aa area rug...under the coffee table or dining area (something to center the room) Have fun and good luck.
- dark blue and orange combination : plus small things in violate color
- Since white is a neautral color any color will go with it . That is why most rentals walls are painted white . Choose furniture that reflect your personnality. Do you like modern or country??? The main thing is that you get furniture that you like and that you are comfortable with. . Have a fun time shopping and congrats on your move.
- Dark woods like cherry. You definitely need punches of color in this sea of white.Pick out a beautiful piece of artwork you love and pull your colors out of there. That's how designers do it.
- I would have to agree with MsPixieRN i paint and decorate and she nailed it on the head very good choice and i dont find many people i agree with. So check her's out.
