What color furniture would go well with apricot/peach colored walls?

Friends have said go with dark colors, like chocolate, but I think that's too dark! I'm looking for living room furniture. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  1. Tan, baby blue, a brighter shade of the color you are painting your walls.
  2. Chocolate WOULD look amazing! Maybe you could find an apricot base that is darker than the wall with chocolate accents? Apricot is an orange color and its complimentary color would be blue. Go with a medium blue with chocolate accent, or just plain blue. Blue, chocolate, darker apricot, a reddish brown would look nice also as long as it's more brown than red. Medium brown. Try to avoid really light colors unless it's blue. Keep it medium to dark otherwise. I would highly advise a light-medium blue.
  3. I would say a tan or medium brown. Also cream would loko good but that is only if u don't have young children to stain it - Lol. Good luck!!
  4. I would probably go with a yellow, light or even lime green or a more neutral light tan. If you go with the colors, offset it by going with some curtains that tie the two colors together and also some pillows. If you go with the neutral furniture, then budget in some for at least one floral or striped armed chair or recover one you already have. Pick out the colors you want to pull together such as apricot and green, and/or yellows, or tans and make or buy throw pillows. A formula that seems to work for me is the three color trick. I have a main color, 60% (which in your case would be your peach walls), a secondary color, 30 % ( to add flair, either your sofa, or arm chair) and the 3rd, 10% ( which could be the lime green, or a color of your liking, for vase, flowers, pillows, sheers, etc.) It should be the impact color, used sparingly. Always add a black drama piece in each room, too. Such as a small statue, vase, or marbles in vase. These are just a few things that I have used and it works for me. Hope this helps give you some ideas. Simplyliving
  5. Friends are right ...go with expresso or black. BUT if you don't like that color furniture, buy what you like and then repaint. No reason to spend so much money when painting a different color is so much cheaper than furniture.
